Volunteer Opportunities
The Shady Grove Pregnancy Center is predominately a volunteer-base organization with the majority of the work done by volunteers. Each month it takes over 450 volunteer hours to keep the Center open to service the local community.
If you like people, are a good listener, and have a heart for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, consider becoming a COUNSELOR in our Pregnancy Program. Training involved with a one-year commitment.- If you are an experienced mother and have a heart for soon-to-be mothers to be equipped and prepared for motherhood, you may want to become a MENTOR MOM through our Parenting Program. Training involved with a one-year commitment.
- We are seeking "knights in shining armor" to volunteer at the center for the evening shift and to walk counselors to their cars at closing time. Become a MALE PRESENCE! Training involved with one-year commitment.
- Our BABY BOTTLE TEAM needs a few good people who like to roll up their sleeves, work behind the scenes, getting their hands dirty from money. Assist in delivering and/or picking up bottles; counting and preparing money for deposit. Involvement: 3 to 4 hours on short notice approximately 5 times a year.
- If you like running a vacuum cleaner, seeing glass surfaces shine, or enjoy the smell of "Pledge" on furniture, consider being a HOUSEKEEPER for the Center. Involvement: 6 hours per month.
- If being involved in policy making, administration, project coordination, brainstorming and networking with like-minded individuals, then consider joining our BOARD as a volunteer. Involvement: 3 to 5 hours a month.
- Do computers make you smile? Are they friendly to you? If so, consider becoming friendly with our computer by working in DATA ENTRY. Training involved, 4 hours per week, one-year commitment.
- If you enjoy organizing closets, you may enjoy giving a few hours a week to sorting clothing and working on our closets as a MATERIAL RESOURCE PERSON. Involvement: 3 hours per week.
